Dr. Marie Chantal Cyulinyana is the Science and Technology Foresight Analyst for Rwanda National Council for Science and (NCST). Prior to joining NCST, Dr. Cyulinyana served the University of Rwanda (UR) as the Physics lecturer at College of Science and Technology (UR-CST), Physics Department (2011-2021).  She is a co-founder and current president of the Rwandan Association for Women in Science and Engineering (RAWISE), a chair of women in nuclear Rwanda Chapter, the International Nuclear Security Education Network Liaison officer and a convener of women in Physics forum in African Strategy for Fundamental and Applied Physics (ASFAP). She is  founding member of OWSD Rwanda Chapter and member of International science organizations aiming at promoting gender equity and equality.  

Dr Cyulinyana had post doctorate fellowship for two years from South Africa National Research Found (NRF) at university of Witwatersrand in Physics department working on modelling and optimization of solar energy technologies (2019-2020).

Dr. Cyulinyana holds a PHD degree in Physics from university of Johannesburg, which was sponsored by the Organization for Women in Science in Developing Countries (OWSD).

Marie Chantal was awarded by the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences-Next Einstein Initiative and MasterCard foundation, a TTP Women in science "first' Awards 2019.  For defying the status quo and blazing the pathway in science for the next generation of girls in science, on 10th February 2019.
