Maureen is a Biomedical Engineer and inventor focused on using engineering knowledge, entrepreneurship, and management principles to address Global Health Challenges. She is particularly interested in the development of tools for maternal health and emergency medical services in low-resource settings. She presently co-directs Pumzi Devices (www.pumzidevices.org), a non-profit organization focusing on using technical solutions to solve emergency healthcare concerns. She devotes a significant amount of time to mentoring and coaching young people on personal development skills. Her overarching goal is to restore hope through innovation, and many of her projects focus on local development and the use of indigenous medical devices.
