Dr. Jane Namukobe is a lecturer and a researcher at the department of Chemistry, Makerere University, Uganda. Jane obtaimed her Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and a PhD in Chemistry from Makerere University. She has experience in teaching and rsearch of over 10 years and her vision and ability is to nurture the young generation to grow and advance in their academic as well as research careers. Her joy comes from doing research that impact society and transform lives. Driven by the enthusiasm in research in Natural products, Jane ha reeceived awards to do research towards drug discovery and herbal formulations from natural products and more specifically medicinal plants. She has published journal papers in her field of research in peer reviewed journals. Her current research focuses on screening medicinal plants for their antibacterial, antioxidation and sunscreen potentials as well as identify their bioactive compounds
