He is a member of the IEEE and is the current Executive Dean of the largest Engineering and Built Environment faculty in South Africa.  The vision of the faculty is to lead at research and implementations of the 4IR technologies on the life of communities.  4IR is a multi-disciplinary tool that affects all areas of our lives including social justice and relationships.  Professor Mashao still conducts research in Artificial Intelligence in Human Language Technologies and Society.
