Prof Mulder heads the Computational Biology Division at the University of Cape Town and H3ABioNet, a pan African Bioinformatics Network. She leads 2 data coordinating centres and eLwazi, an African Open Data Science Platform for harnessing data for novel health discoveries. Her research focuses on African genomics, particularly with applications to diseases. She is very involved in capacity development across Africa and is part of several international consortia. She also sits on a number of international scientific advisory boards.
