Samira Al-Balushi is a 27-year-old civil engineer and climate advocate based in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. With over seven years of experience in nonprofit youth organizations, she focuses on climate advocacy and meaningful youth engagement. Currently, she is affiliated with Basmantna Gheer, where she actively follows international climate negotiations and plans events, including conferences and awareness campaigns, to amplify the voices of youth in the MENA region. Her work empowers young individuals with the knowledge and tools necessary to create impactful change. Samira holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering and has served as the Public Relations Manager for the MENA Youth Network. She has participated in various programs, including the UNITAR Program with UNFCCC and the Youth Ambassadors Program with the Ministry of Youth and Sport and Culture. Samira has represented youth at major climate conferences, including COP28 and COP27, and has contributed to publications such as the RCOY MENA Regional Youth Statement. Through her efforts, she aims to raise awareness about environmental issues and foster global collaboration among youth.
