Dr Nur Hashimah Alias is a membranologist and an Associate Professor at the School of Chemical Engineering, College of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam, Malaysia. Nur Hashimah's research interests are membrane fabrication and its applications for sustainable wastewater treatment and purification technology. She has a remarkable track record as a great young scientist. She has won various outstanding awards such as the L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science 2024 award and research grant, the Young Scientist Network-Academy of Science Malaysia (YSN-ASM) Rising Star Award 2019, the YSN-ASM Young Investigator Award 2018, fellowship award by National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) Japan in 2017. She was a postdoctoral research fellow under Professor Chew Jia Wei from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. Her postdoctoral fellowship is fully funded by the Singapore Academies South-East Asia Fellowship (SASEAF) Programme by the National Research Foundation (NRF), Prime Minister Office of Singapore. She is also an affiliate of the Young Scientist Network-Academy of Science Malaysia (YSN-ASM). Lastly, she has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to professional development and a passion for contributing to a good science.
