PhD Joniada Barjaba is the Director of Integration, Coordination, Agreements and Assistance at the Ministry of Finance and at the same time a lecturer of economics at the "Logos" University College. She is a member of the Albanian Young Academy since March 2024. Joniada completed her doctoral studies at the School of Global Studies of the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom and earned her PhD degree in 2018. Joniada earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Emory University, USA (2011), and "Master" degree in International Policy Studies from Stanford University, USA (2013). Before starting her doctoral studies at Sussex University, Joniada worked as a research assistant at Stanford University Business School. In her research activity, Joniada has focused mainly on the migration of Albanians and the economic, social and cultural impacts of migration on the development of Albania as well as on the policies of the European Union. Author and co-author of several books and articles in the field of migration and European integration.
