Prof. Csaba Benedek, D.Sc, is a deputy director and a scientific advisor of the HUN-REN Institute for Computer Science and Control (HUN-REN SZTAKI), and a full professor of the Péter Pázmány Catholic University.

 

Csaba Benedek is currently a vice chairman of the John von Neumann Compuiter Society, and the Hungarian Governing Board Member of the International Association of Pattern Recognition (IAPR). He is a regular member of the Hungarian Academy of Engineering, a Senior member of IEEE and an associate editor of the Digital SIgnal Processing Journal. He received various awards, including the Bolyai Plaque of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (2019) and the Michelberger Master Award of the Hungarian Academy of Engineering (2020). 

He has been the manager of various national and international research projects in the recent years. His research interest includes Bayesian image and point cloud segmentation, object extraction, change detection, machine learning applications, and GIS data analysis.
