Dr. Justine Benoit-Piau is a postdoctoral researcher specializing in injury prevention and rehabilitation in dance and artistic sports. She holds a Doctorate in Health Sciences from Université de Sherbrooke, where her research explored the interplay between physical and psychological factors in musculoskeletal disorders among dancers. Currently, she is a postdoctoral fellow at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, focusing on innovative approaches to monitor mental health issues in professional ballet companies and the impacts of early sport specialisation in young athletes.
Dr. Benoit-Piau's research portfolio spans injury prevention, movement competency, and the integration of mental health into rehabilitation strategies. She has published extensively in high-impact journals, including Physical Therapy in Sport and BMJ Open Sports & Exercise Medicine. Her work has garnered significant recognition and funding from prestigious organizations such as the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé.
