Dr. Abeni Beshiru is a faculty member in the College of Natural and Applied Sciences, Western Delta University, Oghara Nigeria; where he was the Chair in the Department of Microbiology and Biotechnology. He was also the Director of Visiting Academic Fellows at Western Delta University. He is a member of the Applied Microbial Processess and Environmental Health Research Group, University of Benin, Nigeria. He is a recipient of the George Foster Research Fellowship, Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study (STIAS) Iso Lomso Fellowship, African-German Network of Excellence in Science (AGNES) Researcher Grant, Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Foundation Research Fellowship, German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Research Grants - Short-Term Grants, Professor Oyewale Tomori National Young Scientist Prize in Microbiology, TETfund Research Grants among others. He has been involved in several humanitarian and community development services entrenched in the sustainable development goals (SDG). He has published peer-reviewed academic journals indexed in SCOPUS/Web of Science. He has made presentations in several conferences at national and international levels. He is also a reviewer to several national and international journals. He is a member and sctive participant to several professional bodies. His research is currently focused on microbial pathogenesis, disease transmission and ecology. He is a research fellow at the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) in Berlin Germany.
