Dr. ANTONIO CHAMUENE holds a PhD in Entomology from the Federal University of Vicosa, Minas Gerais, Brazil 2015. He completed his Master's Degree in Plant Protection at Eduardo Mondlane University, Maputo, Mozambique in 2007. In addition, he completed a Degree in Agriculture Science at the Agriculture Institute of Kazakhstan, Almaty 1996. Currently, ANTONIO is the Regional Director at the Northeast Zonal Centre for Agriculture Research Institute of Mozambique. As a researcher, he is leading activities for crop protection and farming system research, and contributing to the development of national integrated pest management strategies.  He was graced as the Award Winner of Better Assistant Researcher of RUFORUM (Regional Universities Forum) during the Maputo Biennial Conference held in Maputo, Mozambique, in July 2014.
