Gyöngyi Csongrádi is a lecturer at the Faculty of Finance and Accounting at the Budapest Business School, where she teaches economics and financial markets as an associate professor. She graduated from the Budapest University of Economics in 2003 with a degree in Finance and Business English Teaching, and in addition to economics, she also studied informatics. After graduating from the University, she started to teach at the Budapest Business School, and worked as a lecturer at the Óbuda University, the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and the College of Modern Business Studies. She received her PhD from the University of Óbuda, where she wrote her dissertation on the role of the private sector in the financing of the nonprofit sector, with special reference to public safety organisations. In her research, she has paid close attention to nonprofit organisations, their functioning, their funding and fundraising opportunities. In this context, she is also conducting further research in the field of behavioural economics, where she is looking at human decisions and their drivers using the tools of experimental economics, and in the field of education, where she is looking not only at knowledge transfer among students but also at students’ financial literacy. She currently leads an international research group on financial literacy and is a member of several other research groups.
In her private life, she is active in sports (nine-pin bowling) and is a mother of three children.
