Dr Shadrack Batsile Dikgwatlhe started his career in 2002 as an Assistant Lecturer at the North West University (NWU) where he recieved is BSc Agric. and  BSc Agric. Hons (Crop Science) in 2001 and 2002 respectively. He obtained his BSc Agric with 36 distinctions and was later awaded a gold medal for the outstanding peformance by SASCP. He later obtained MSc Agronomy in University of Free State where he worked as a Juniour Researcher and later promoted to Researcher working in various projects in the Soil, Crop and Climate Science Unit from 2003 to 2006. In mid 2006-to late 2009, he was appointed as a Researcher in the Agricultural research Council (ARC) under cropping System Unit. He was later appointed as a Specialist Researcher by Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (LDARD) under Research Services branch. In mid 2011 he was awarded a prestigious scholarship to persue his PhD in China Agricultural University (CAU) in Beijing (PRC) majoring in Crop Production Systems obtained after 3 years. Upon return now Dr, he held various positions including Acting Manager, Acting Director and now Scientific Manager. He is also a Registered Scientist with SACNASP. He later ventured into management by obatining Management Advancement Programme (MAP) with Wits University in 2018.
