I have a Masters of Arts from the University of KwaZulu-Natal obtained in 2002. I worked for the Natal Museum as an Anthropology Researcher before joining the Department of Public Service and Administration in 2005 where I was responsible for case study writing, managings a publication and supporting its knowledge management initiatives. In 2011 I then joined the Centre for Public Service Innovation as an Innovation Researcher. The post I hold until today, I am responsible for research. Just to provide an example, I am currently working on the baseline study of public sector innovation in SA in collaboration with NACI. I also conduct impact assesment work, on various initiatives that we embark on as an organisation. I also develop case studies of various innovation initiatives that we have undertaken. I also do project management of some pilot projects. I management a pro-active policing pilot project for informal settlements and replicated the same solution in selected schools in Gauteng where we were testing if the solution can assist in the protection of ICT equipment in schools. I was part of a team that advised the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education in establishing an innovation school in Durban.
