Dr. Mürsel Doğrul is an Assistant Professor in International Relations specializing in Security Studies, focusing on the Indo-Pacific region. He holds a PhD in International Relations and Regional Studies from the National Defense University (Istanbul), with a dissertation exploring Japanese Foreign Policy and the Political Economy of Energy in the Middle East. Mürsel is a dedicated academic and researcher, serving as the Director of International Relations and an advisor to the President of the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA). He also represents the Turkish Young Academy, established in 2019, in international forums and initiatives. His academic journey has led him to prestigious institutions such as the University of Tokyo and Meiji University, where he has contributed as a guest researcher. His research interests span critical security, economic security, and cybersecurity to the political economy and science diplomacy. He has published extensively on topics including Japanese foreign policy, counter-terrorism, and the intersection of blockchain technology with national security. Mürsel has also been recognized for his international outreach, having participated in numerous international conferences, workshops, and research projects. He remains committed to advancing knowledge in international relations and security through his contributions to academia and policy-making bodies.
