Dong Liang received a B.Sc. degree in applied mathematics from the University of Hull, Hull, U.K., in 2006, M.Sc. in applied mathematics from Mälardalen University, Västerås, Sweden, in 2009, and Ph.D. in cartography and geographic information system from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 2022. He is currently serving as Assistant Director-General of the International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (CBAS), Deputy Secretary-General of the Digital Belt and Road Program (DBAR), Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese National Committee of the International Society for Digital Earth, and Editorial Board Member of Big Earth Data. His research interests include polar remote sensing and Big Earth Data applications.
