I’m a freelance science journalist based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada where I am a settler on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) First Nations.

Captivated by the natural world and its stories, I write mainly about living things but also non-living ones like dinosaurs, energy, and climate. I especially like writing about quirky animal behaviour, wildlife conservation, and environmental health.

Elected to the WFSJ board in 2023, I am committed to working collaboratively to hold the organization to high standards of transparency and accountability and striving to uplift and create opportunities for science journalists globally.
