Shaimaa Hatab is a distinguished academic and food processing technology researcher. As an Associate Professor and Vice Dean at Heliopolis University's Faculty of Organic Agriculture, Egypt, she has made significant contributions to both academic and applied research.
With experience in Egypt and China, including visiting scholar roles at Zhejiang Ocean University and Northwest A&F University, Dr. Hatab's academic journey began at Suez Canal University. She earned her PhD in Food Safety and Microbiology from Northwest A&F University in 2012.
Dr. Hatab's research has focused on addressing food safety and quality challenges. Her work has included developing natural preservatives for seafood using fenugreek and lupine seeds to extend shelf life and reduce food waste. She has also developed methods to remove carcinogenic mycotoxins from apple products using beneficial microorganisms, improving food safety and extending product shelf life.
Recognized for her academic and research excellence, Dr. Hatab has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. She has received awards such as the Talented Young Scientist award from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Her innovative approaches and dedication to improving food safety and quality have positioned her as a leading expert in the field.
