Maggy Heintz is Executive Director of the UK Collaborative on Development Research (UKCDR). UKCDR is an organisation working side-by-side with government departments and research funders to amplify and enhance the UK’s research for international development sector. For over a decade, we have brought UK research funders together to discuss priorities and coordinate efforts to maximise the impact of international development research. Maggy leads UKCDR providing high-level engagement and strategic coordination of across UK funders of international development research.
Prior to UKCDR, Maggy provided strategic leadership to academics in a variety of scientific disciplines, to ensure resource mobilisation. In her role as Head of Research and Business Development at a UK university, she worked with a range of partners in Low and Middle Income Countries (LMICs), providing intellectual leadership, facilitating, co-designing and co-developing large scale transformational transdisciplinary research proposals addressing the UN SDGs and ensuring positive impact on the socio-economic development of LMICs.
Prior to this position, she was science attaché in physical sciences and innovation for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in London, and has a research background in Earth Sciences, having conducted research at the Australian National University and the University of Cambridge.
