Prof. Abu Bakar Md. Ismail

Abu Bakar Md. Ismail is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. He earned a Ph. D. from Saga University, Japan, where he worked in advanced instrumentation. Later he worked for two years as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Industrial and Scientific Research (ISIR), Osaka University, as a NEDO researcher.
Professor Ismail served as the Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, the department's Chairman, and the Director of the Central Science Laboratory of University Rajshahi. He also served as an Associate Professor in the Electronics Engineering Department of Fatih University, Istanbul, Turkey. His research interest is energy materials and nanotechnology. His passion is the development of novel inorganic and organic semiconductor thin films and nanostructures for solar energy harvesting. His publication includes more than 100 articles and book chapters. Professor Ismail is a Fellow member of the Bangladesh Physical Society and an honorable member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). As an advisor, Prof. Ismail contributes to various governmental forums for the advancement of science, technology, and education in Bangladesh.
