Mohammed Ismail Khasawneh is the General Director of the National Petroleum Company of Jordan, a role he has held since 2017. With a strong background in petroleum engineering, he has led significant projects and innovations in Jordan’s oil and gas sector. Mohammed’s expertise encompasses reservoir and production engineering, field operations supervision, and petroleum economics. His leadership at NPC is marked by strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing Jordan’s energy sector by enhancing the production of the Risha gas field, targeting to reach full sufficiency and replace imported gas.

Educated in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Engineering and Technology in Pakistan, Mohammed’s career spans over three decades in various technical and management positions worldwide. His extensive experience includes roles at international firms like Schlumberger and Weatherford, as well as significant contributions to regional companies in the Middle East and North Africa.

In his current capacity, Mohammed is focused on developing and implementing strategies that leverage Jordanian technical expertise to maximize the country’s proven oil and gas potentials. His objective at NPC highlights his commitment to integrating global best practices with local industry needs, driving forward Jordan’s energy sector.
