I teach problem solving using programming. I believe problem solving skills are essential to solving Africa's problems. Many a times I come across students that did science my rote learning and not really internalising a problem, playing with ideas to solve the problem. It's a pity we don't encourage students to play with ideas. I hope I can see a different breed of scientists at this forum, a breed that encourages creative approaches to problem solving.
