Chhatra Karki is Kathmandu, Nepal based Freelance Science Journalist and the founding President of Nepal Forum of Science Journalists. He has over two decades of experience in newspaper and online news portal in diverse responsibilities. He covers news, feature, and in-depth stories on science and technology, environment, health, and other issues of public concern. His works have been published in different national and international media outlets.

His outstanding contribution in Journalism, communication, and media research has been recognized by national and international organizations such as the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Nepal government, State department of the USA etc. Chhatra served as the Program Director of Himalayan Climate Boot Camp for South Asian Science Journalists 2022, initiated by         Spark Grant initiative. He is a Contributing Writer for GAVI.org (The Vaccine Alliance) and The Himalayan Times daily Newspaper.  Currently, Chhatra serves as the Vice President of the World Federation of Science Journalists (WFSJ).
