I have more than 10 years’ experience in developing and evaluating biopesticides for sustainable crop production. I possess a PhD in Plant Sciences majoring in pesticides risk assessment, insect pathology and characterization of insect pests in agricultural systems. My research focus is testing and developing of non-synthetic, low cost, environmental friendly plant protection products that use locally available resources and are very effective. In my lab, I have identified two isolates of beneficial fungi and two botanical pesticides that are effective against lepidopteran pest such as the fall armyworm. Iam currently a board member  of Pesticides Control Board and technical committee member of National Key Biodiversity Areas working group of Malawi.
