I am the director of a startup company called Organic Flo. which addresses two things: providing eco friendly sanitary pads that are biodegradable and accessibility of affordable quality sanitary pads for women in disadvantaged areas across South Africa. Our customers are active women between the ages of 12 to 55 who experience menstrual cycles every month. According to Stats SA, about 7 million girls and women in South Africa miss about a month of school and work each year due to lack of access to affordable sanitary hygiene products. To address this issue, Organic Flo. offers affordable quality sanitary pads made from agricultural waste and organic cotton. They are comfortable, plastic free, decompose within a few days, have no harsh chemicals and no fragrance, therefore safer for women to use without causing skin irritation or allergies.

In addition to this, 

I am an MSc candidate with keen interest in climate change adaptation on the African continent and the application of indigenous knowledge systems in climate adaptation policy.

I believe that my attendance at the World Science Forum will open me up to likeminded industry and academic folk that will add value to my network of peers. I am also looking forward to meeting established business owners who can offer guidance and mentorship as I am only starting out in my business ventures.
