Dr. Shabana Khan is the Director of Indian Research Academy, New Delhi, India. She is a lead author of the nexus assessment report at the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), and Vice President of Madhursmriti, the alumni association of Kamala Nehru College, University of Delhi. Dr. Khan has received the Japanese Award for Outstanding Research on Development (ORD) for her work on assessing infodemic in the post-COViD-19 risk communication and governance in 2023. Previously, she has worked as a scientific committee member for the Association of Academies and Societies of Sciences in Asia (AASSA) and InterAcademy Partnership (IAP). She is also an alumni member of the Global Young Academy and a World Social Science Fellow on Risk Interpretation and Action with the erstwhile International Social Science Council, now International Science Council. In her over 20 years of research journey, she has 44 international publications in peer-reviewed journals, reports and books, and has presented her research in 48 international conferences and workshops. Her current research is focusing on assessing infodemic, disaster risk communication, response, vulnerability, climate change, and global policies from an interdisciplinary perspective.
