Dr Brenda Kubheka is a medical doctor, researcher, and an enterpreneur. She is a Managing Director at Health IQ Consulting and recently co-founded Matched Media, a start-up health communications company based in South Africa. She loves unpacking issues related to social media and healthcare, espacially using data for storytelling.

She has a medical degree, an MBA and various diplomas. She recently completed her certificate in Media and Medicine from the Harvard Medical School, where she's been offered an opportunity to pursue postgraduate studies in Bioethics - Healthcare AI. Her current work focuses on strategic clinical risk management and health ethics advisory.

She previously worked for the Provincial Department of Health and the medical aid industry at Executive and senior management levels. She has worked as a consultant in various health organizations including being a Chief Medical Officer at Clinix Health Group and an external surveyor for the Council of Health Services Accreditation in Southern Africa (COHSASA), to name a few. 

She has published and peer-reviewed for various international journals. She has presented in various conferences including delivering public lecture on the societal impact of Covid-19. She is an African Leadership initiative SA Fellow and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. She is a Member of Council at the University of Limpopo and serves as a social and ethics committee member at the Cancer Association of SA (CANSA).

Her bioethical areas of interest include digital ethics (intersection between technology and humanity), governance, patient safety, and social justice. She is a PhD candidate at the University of Witwatersrand.
