Since 2006 – one of the founders and Executive Director of the International Centre for Innovation in Science, Technology and Education (ICISTE). ICISTE leads on the development and implementation of international STI programs with Russia, including the development of co-funding mechanisms for STI matching calls. ICISTE also took part in the large-scale international projects within EU  Framework programmes.  ICISTE acts as a BRICS STI Secretariat for Russia since 2016.

Latest publications (both in Russian and in English) led by Irina Kuklina describe implementation of the international STI policy cooperation and supporting mechanisms for development of bilateral and multilateral STI programs.

Areas of interest include science diplomacy, science communication & international STI policy development.
