I am Tshikala Eddie Lulamba, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the South African National Bioinformatics Institute (SANBI), University of the Western Cape, where I am working on the African Data and Biospecimen Exchange (ADBEx) project, which aims at creating an online platform that will facilitate ethical and equitable secondary sharing of African data and biospecimen resources. My task for the first year focuses on compiling metadata standards for the new data and biospecimen-sharing platform. I concluded my Doctoral program in Biotechnology at the Department of Biotechnology and Food Technology, Faculty of Science, with specialization in Entomopathogenic Nematology: Genomics and Metabolomics.

I am a scientist with knowledge in both biotechnology and food technology, with hands-on experience on several analytical equipment such as, GC-, LC- and UHPLC–MS etc., and Bioinformatics tools. I have taught several courses at the undergraduate level and successfully supervised research projects at this level. I have attended several workshops, seminars and conferences, and have authored and co-authored research articles and presented in both national and international conferences.
