I hold a doctorate degree in Medical Immunology from the University of Pretoria - research focused on HIV pathogenesis, an M.Sc. degree in Medical Biochemistry from the University of Stellenbosch - research focused on TB pathogenesis, a B.Sc. Honours in Biochemistry - research focused on Cancer, and B.Sc. degree in Life Sciences majoring in Biochemistry and Microbiology from the University of Limpopo. I have post-doctoral experience from the University of Virginia (USA) and University of Venda (South Africa) where he worked as an NIH FIC, WHIL, as a Genetic Epidemiology/Statistical Genetics and Metabolomics Post-doctoral Research Fellow, and at the NICD as a Professional Development Programme Post-Doctoral Fellowship where I conducted research on a HIV vaccines (HIV functional cure). I am currently working for SAMRC as a Project Manager, responsible for the Precision Medecine Portfolio and IKS and ATMs projects. I have published and co-authored more than 33 high level research articles including those published in the Lancet and Nature journals, with more than 8066 citations with a current overall h-index of 22.
