Dr. Pelly Malebe is a Specialised Molecular Product Manager at Roche Diagnostics. In her current role she continues to be passionate about biotechnology and strengthening the diagnostic systems for Women’s Health in Africa.

She holds a PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. Dr. Malebe was selected as the Next Einstein Forum Ambassador for South Africa. She is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. Dr. Malebe received the National Research Foundation Doctoral Innovation Award, as well as the Southern African Biochemistry and Informatics for Natural Products Network (SABINA) Doctoral Fellowship which is funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York. Her research has also been recognised by the Department of Science and Technology Women in Science Award, as a recipient of the Doctoral Fellowship. Dr. Malebe has presented in various international conferences and published several research papers in scientific peer-reviewed journals.

A patent was filed on the results of the research she conducted during her MSc study. Dr Malebe is passionate about biotechnology and its role in strengthening diagnostic systems.
