Peter NAGY, DSc. is the Scientific Director and Head of the Molecular Immunology and Toxicology Department at the National Institute of Oncology. At the University of Debrecen he holds the positions of Acting Director of the Chemistry Coordination Institute and Chairman of the Scientific and Social Advisory Board of the Count István Tisza Foundation.

He is full professor at the University of Debrecen and at the University of Veterinary Medicine and visiting professor at Semmelweis University.

He is an expert in the field of redox biology related to oncogenesis, tumour progression as well as immune response and development of resistance to therapies.  

He is a member of Academia Europea and the European Academy of Cancer Sciences, served as a delegate to the Scientific Council of the WHO’s International Agency for Research on Cancer and member of the Accreditation and Designation Board of the Organization of European Cancer Institutes.

He is the PI of the National Tumorbiology Laboratory and Redox Tumorbiology Thematic Excellence Programmes, and PI or researcher in several national and international thematic research projects.

He has published 128 scientific publications, which to date received over 8000 citations.
