He is the Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Venda, located in the Limpopo Province of the Republic of South Africa. He is an accomplished and successful executive manager with over 24 years of experience in South Africa's national system of innovation landscape. His responsibilities include providing overall strategic and operational leadership in research management and administration, teaching and learning, managing and leading research capacity programs, and overseeing the National Research Foundation's granting instruments and international research and development initiatives. He possesses a wealth of experience and knowledge relevant to the higher education sector.

Previously, he held a senior management position at the NRF as the Director of the International Research Programme, where he managed Science and Technology bilateral agreements, multilateral agreements signed by the South African government with other foreign governments, and Inter-Agency bilateral agreements signed by the NRF. He also oversaw international Science Council grants and served as the executive director in charge of grants management and systems administration directorate. Additionally, he worked as a lecturer at the University of Johannesburg, formerly known as Vista University.
