I am a writer in the communications department of the Human Sciences Research Council where I edit the HSRC Review magazine and help to communicate the HSRC's research outputs to a broader audience.

I have more than 15 years’ experience as a news journalist, most of that as a specialist health reporter, covering private and public health systems and challenges, HIV and Aids, infectious diseases, the impact of poverty on health, nutrition, non-communicable diseases, drug and alcohol abuse, mental health, law, bio-ethics, the pharmaceutical sector, and health fraud.

My experience also includes four years of research communication at the CSIR where I covered topics such as climate change, 4IR, robotics, broadband technology, alternative energy (wind and solar), nanoscience, limnology (water science), biofuels, marine engineering, and the built environment (small houses, infection control in healthcare settings).
