Maureen Achieng Otieno holds a BSc. Sustainable Energy and Climate Change and is a Renewable Energy Project Coordinator at Strathmore University. She is a sustainable energy expert with a focus on energy access using renewable energy technologies and their related environmental issues. Currently, she’s coordinating the Long Term EU-AU Partnership in Renewable Energy (LEAP-RE) funded by Horizon 2020.

She is a management committee member of the Women in Sustainable Energy and Entrepreneurship (WISEe), an energy service cooperative in Kenya that builds the capacity women in renewable energy and entrepreneurship. She is also the assistant secretary serving on the board of the Energy Society of Kenya (ESK), the Kenyan Member Committee of the World Energy Council, which is a global forum for thought-leadership and tangible engagement.
