Prof. Yan Peng is the Dean of School of Future Technology and the Executive Director of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence at Shanghai University. She is a recipient of the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Science and Technology Innovation Prizes and one of the Distinguished Young Scholars sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. She obtained her PhD degree from Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Her research interest lies in unmanned surface vehicles (USV). From October 2014 to November 2017, she served as the Executive Dean of the Research Institute of USV Engineering at Shanghai University. Since 2017, she has been the Dean of the Research Institute of USV Engineering at Shanghai University. Since 2020, she has been the Executive Director of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence at Shanghai University. Since 2021, she has been the Director of Shanghai Ocean Artificial Intelligence Collaborative Innovation Center. Prof. Peng has dedicated decades to the research of marine robotics. She is a founding member and a leader of the Jinghai Research Team, which has developed 15 distinct types of USVs. These products serve as essential equipment, enabling the successful completion of various tasks such as underwater archaeology, Antarctic expeditions and marine rescue operations.
