Magali Reinert has been working in journalism for the last 24 years. As an environmental science journalist, she reports on climate change, environmental health, biodiversity loss, etc. She has a solid academic background in both science and journalism, with an MSc in Agronomy (Paris), an MA in Environment (Paris), and an MA in Journalism (Johannesburg). Her career path has led her to different countries and different types of media: editor in chief in Paris (Transrural), a freelance journalist in South Africa (Le Monde, Mail & Guardian, etc.), a staff journalist in Paris (Novethic), and a science-program anchorwoman (Caledonia) in New Caledonia. She is currently freelancing in France (Reporterre, Nature, La cité des sciences, Sciences et vie, 60 millions de consommateurs) and part-time director of studies at the Ecole supérieure de journalisme ESJ-PRO in Montpellier for master degrees. She wrote in 2015 a book on climate change (Climate change - What challenges for the South?, Ed. IRD , 2015), and she contributed to the Routledge Handbook of Environmental Journalism (David B. Sachsman et al., 2020). She has been appointed at the board of both the French association of science journalisme AJSPI and at the European Federation for Science Journalmism (EFSJ).
