Prof Elly Nyambobo, a Ugandan citzen born on 12.11.1951 graduated at Makerere University,Uganda with a Bsc Agric 1976, Msc Agric 1980 and PhD 1986 at University of New Brunswick,Fredericton,New Brunswick,Canada. He joined Makerere as a Lecturer in Pasture Sciences/Ecology in 1985 and rose through ranks and files to Full Professor in 1998. He taught many undergraduate and graduate courses and has supervised over 25 Msc and 7PhD gradute students. He is specialised in grassland and range land sciences and environmental Sciences. He has published over 150 articles, book chapters, books and edited Conference papers.He was head of depart met and Dean of Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry. He retired from Makerere University in 2021 and he is currently a Professor,Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences, Busitema University,Tororo,Uganda. He is engaged in graduate teaching,supervision and developing new postgraduate degree programmes and does research in Waste Management for a sustainable and health environment. He is a Fellow of the World Academy of Sciences(Twas),F African Academy of Sciences(AAS) and F.Uganda national Academy of Sciences(FUNAS) and a Fulbright Scholar. he attended the first World Science Forum held in Budapest, Hungary,1999. He has attended several Internal conferences in grasslands, rangelands and other related disciplines and is widely travelled.
