Alinah K. Segobye is an extraordinary professor at North West Univeristy - Indigenous Knowledge Centre, Mahikeng Campus. She is also a Research Scholar at the African Futures Institute (Pretoria). She previously served as Dean of Faculty (Human Sciences) at the Namibia University of Science and Technology. Prior to that she was Deputy Excecutive Director at the Human Sciences Research Council of South Africa. Segobye is the current chairperson of the Science for Africa Foundation and is a Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences and the Botswana Academy of Sciences. She is a board member of the Botswana Qualifications Authority. She has extensive experience in policy development in higher education in southern Africa. She has contributed to policy development in education with special interest in gender inclusive science, technology and innovation. Her current research focuses on decolonising education, TVET, African futures and heritage management. Segobye has published widely in various areas of Africa studies.
