Promise Shabangu is a Professional Officer at the National Research Foundation of South Africa, in their Research Chairs and Centres of Excellence Directorate. She coordinates the implementation of internationalisation startegy for thw chairs programmme and oversees over 60 Chairs across 5 Universities within South Africa and 10 other chairs hosted outside of South Africa, under the O.R. Tambo Africa Research Chairs Initiative. 

Promise as an aspiring career diplomat, with a promising and striving career within the field of science diplomacy. She is an avid reader, with keen interest in the international political Economy and Africa's changing position in the international economy.
