Seyed Shahmy is a Pharmacologist, a Chartered biostatistician, and a Chartered Manager with over 15 years of work experience in science administration in a couple of academic-based multi-centre clinical research organizations and extensive experience in research implementation and monitoring in resource-poor settings. He has received a number of distinguished honours for his collaborative scholarly works published in reputed international scientific outlets. President's Awards, consecutively for 6 years, from 2014-2019, and Merit Awards (2011, 2012, 2020) of the National Research Council of Sri Lanka, among others, as well as a number of competitive international travel grants to attend scientific symposia abroad.His research interests focus on medical statistics,epidemiology, Science diplomacy,and public health policy analysis. And presently, he serves as a referee for a number of international journals in the fields of medical and allied health sciences.
