I’m currently employed at Rand Water as Technology Training Officer in charge of training process controllers in all the water processes and technologies and I have an Honours degree. I also have an extensive experience and knowledge in environmental, biochemistry, chemistry and microbiology fields specialising in wastewater treatment, water quality management for drinking purposes. I have 5 years post graduate experience working in the laboratory and performing lab-pilot scales research in the water/waste water laboratory. I have been involved in team that improved an overall performance of water treatment plant in supplying community with drinking water of good quality in terms of reducing treatment costs and meeting South African Water guidelines and also involved in a Training of Water Works Technicians in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. The research projects that I have done have been using the following: microbial and chemical tests on water and waste water samples; and potable water and waste water treatment system design data analyses and interpretation. Currently I am involved in drinking water, wastewater quality management and their risk on human health. Also involve in environmental management of existing and new infrastructure by performing environmental and legal audits with extensive use of legislations related to both environment and water quality, and implementation of quality management systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 and development of Waste and Energy management strategies at Umgeni Water. I have excellent 9 years understanding on how to use computer programmes and 1 year and 5 moths understating and usage of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
