My name is Logan Jason Smith and I am currently completing my Masters in Medical Physiology at Stellenbosch University. My project focuses on designing a unique method to discover novel biomarkers which can link stress to cardio-metabolic diseases onset. I have also completed my undergraduate degree (BSc Human Life Sciences with Psychology) and Honours degree (Physiological Sciences) at Stellenbosch. I am passionate about research and improving the lives of others and therefore I am intimately involved in translational research. I currently volunteer for the International Centre for Astronautical Development which focuses on various aspects such as mentorship, career path assistance and research all in the context of outer space. Furthermore, I enjoy exercising, reading and interacting with others as I believe that being a well-balanced individual is of utmost importance. I am assertive, dynamic and resilient and aim to excel in everything I do.
