Krisztina Szepesvári

Desk Officer for International Relations, HUN-REN HQ

Krisztina is a dedicated desk officer for international relations at HUN-REN HQ, where she focuses on developing bilateral relations and coordinating the Hungarian Research Network on EU-related and international topics. With a profound understanding of the national research ecosystem, particularly in basic research, she plays a key role in advancing collaborative efforts in this field.

Krisztina co-chairs the Hungarian CoARA (Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment) National Chapter, leveraging her expertise to foster connections and facilitate the national implementation of the reform process. She graduated as an agricultural economist from the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (former SZIE) and has extensive experience in public administration, including roles at the National Agricultural and Rural Development Agency and the Ministry of Agriculture.

In 2022, Krisztina contributed to Science Europe's efforts on reducing disparities of the European research and innovation during her three-month tenure in their Brussels office. Upon her return, she continued her impactful work as co-chair of Science Europe’s Horizon Europe Working Group and chair of the Task Force on R&I Integration, driving forward initiatives that enhance collaboration and innovation across the region.
