Dr. Katalin TÁNCZOS (Lászlóné Tánczos, born Katalin Jankura, 1944) Certified Transport Engineer, Certified Mathematics Specialist, Emerita Professor, Faculty of Transportation Engineering and Vehicle Engineering, Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (DSc)

From 1994 to 2007, Dr. Tánczos was the Head of the Department of Transport Economics. She is a member of several habilitation and doctoral committees. She also serves on the Hungarian Academy of Sciences’ Committee on Transportation Science and Vehicle Engineering. She was a member of the OECD ECMT (ITF) Urban Travel Steering Committee. She advised the General Directorate of the European Union (Transport, Environment, and later Research and Innovation). She was a member of the Council of the Association of European Transport (AET) and has served on the editorial board of the Journal of Transport Economics and Policy since 2006.Her primary research areas include transportation policy and economics, the development and adaptation of multicriteria evaluation and group decision-making methods in preparing and implementing transportation investments, implementing transportation reforms, examining possibilities for internalizing transport externalities.. She has been the recipient of numerous national and international research grants.
