Excellency Dr. Madiha Ahmed Al-Shaibani is the Minister of Education in the Sultanate of Oman, known for her transformative contributions to Omani education. Beginning her career as a special education teacher in 1989, she quickly progressed to positions of leadership, including School Principal, Director of the Special Education and Private Education Departments, and Deputy Director General of Education. Dr. Al-Shaibani holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She became Secretary General of the Oman National Commission for Education, Science, and Culture in 2007, and in 2010, she was appointed Oman’s Permanent Delegate to UNESCO. Later that year, she made history as Oman’s first female Minister of Education. Recognized among the most influential Arab women by Forbes Middle East, she has earned accolades, including the Second Order of Oman from His Majesty Sultan Qaboos in 2015.
