Professor Carlos Henrique de Brito Cruz is a senior vice-president of research networks at Elsevier and a professor emeritus at the University of Campinas (Unicamp). He previously served as president of Unicamp, and as president and science director of the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), in Brazil. Professor Brito Cruz has also worked as a scientist at AT&T Bell Laboratories, Pierre and Marie Curie University, and the Sapienza University of Rome. He has been a member of the council of the United Nations University and serves on the judging panel for the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering. He is a member of the UN’s 10-Member Group, that advises the organization on research collaborations for the Sustainable Development Goals.
