CV
I am a freelance consultant based in the UK and a champion of evidence-informed policymaking. Over the past 20 years, I have served as a consultant for the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew (2024), Executive Director for EASAC (2023), Project Director for IAP and ISC (2016-2022), Head of International at the UK's Royal Society (2008-2015) and Head of Global Partnerships for the UK Government (2004-2008). I have led projects on multiple agendas and co-authored papers on predatory publishing, research evaluation, science and the SDGs, and science diplomacy, amongst others.
I am passionate about our planet's environment and biodiversity, and the importance of mobilising institutions and communities to be active and impactful advocates for urgent, positive and transformational change. I am confident that science activism – through scientists supporting the growing number of social movements and speaking truth to power in more demonstrable ways, such as peaceful protesting – is vital and should be embraced by the global science community.
