I am an emerging researcher with a background in biological sciences and biotechnology. I am particularly zealous about levelling the playing field for the youth in research, capacity building, gender gap bridging and mental health awareness in STEM. As a young researcher my vision is to be involved in solution based science that will be beneficial nationally and regionally. As a PhD candidate, I am also proactive in research and building my skill set. With my training I hope to empower and contribute to the training of other upcoming researchers. 

Additionally, I am interested in promoting awareness of IKS, innovative entrepreneurship and collaborative science in Africa. I am currently involved with bodies such as Southern Africa Network for Biosciences (SANBio) as a student ambassador and Synthetic Biology Africa (SynBio Africa) as a fellow. Through these platforms I am able to interact with other youth scientists from across Africa to collaborate on projects and address solutions to issues that affect us as emerging scientists. I also run a startup science consultancy and skin care business. Through my entrepreneurial engagement I hope to assist in training and mentoring of upcoming researchers, youth business development and employment creation.
